These reports aggregate essential records maintained by underground utility providers, indicating the assumed “as-built” locations of their service lines and infrastructure.

Obtaining a Statutory Service Records Report is highly recommended prior to undertaking any underground utility mapping surveys or ground investigations. The report serves as a critical first step, delivering initial insights into the potential presence and paths of existing subsurface utilities within a given area or site based on provider documentation.

In addition to supporting safe and PAS 128 compliant surveys, these desktop searches can also inform decision-making for utility connections, due diligence assessments, and other project planning activities that require awareness of underground service locations and paths.

To ensure full compliance, Layer Surveys source the most up-to-date statutory records available, no older than 90 days per PAS 128 requirements. Upon completion, clients receive a comprehensive report compiling all relevant utility records and drawings from providers such as gas, electric, telecommunications, water/wastewater and other applicable entities.
